A therapeutic massage designed to address a particular injury or condition. A massage that applies a wide variety of techniques to specific muscles to relieve tension, minimizes pain and soreness, ease muscle tightness and reduce stress in muscle joints from over-use. This type of massage is especially helpful for those suffering from "Neck and Shoulder Pain;" as well as Low Back Pain. It is also a powerful way to expedite rehabilitation after injury. | | | | | | | | | | | | | Deep Tissue Massage | $85.00 | | | A Deep Tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage but is used to target knots and release chronic muscle tension. Other benefits include reducing inflammation and helping to eliminate scar tissue. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).Deep Tissue Massage uses strokes across and into the grain of the muscles, not with the grain as in Swedish massage. The more intense movements and techniques such as deep finger pressure may be slightly uncomfortable and cause soreness that lasts a couple of days before resulting in the desired relaxation and pain relief. (Many people say the feeling of a Deep Tissue Massage is tantamount to after a good physical workout at the gym).
