24 Hour Cancelation Policy
Backworks asks all patients to please give us at least a 24 hour notice to cancel an appointment. If appropriate notice is not given, the person may be charged for the visit; depending upon the circumstances. Please remember that most of the staff work on hourly appointments. If they lose the appointment, they lose their income. Please call us to cancel. Thank you.
Refund
At Backworks, our policy is Satisfaction Guarenteed; we really try to do a good job. However, if for some reason, you are unhappy, dissatisfied or just did not like your treatment at Backworks, then please contact the Program Director (by telephone or email), and an appropriate refund will be issued. For us, the most important thing is a satisfied patient. Remember, if you are not happy, we are not happy; and people should not pay for something that they are unhappy with. At Backworks, the individual person is our most important commodity.
We are not a "Spa"
Finally, please remember that Backworks is more of a therapeutic back treatment center that specializes in massage, acupuncture and chiropractic; we are not a "Spa", per se. We are located on a very old side street in the Financial District; our building is also very old, and we have been at this location for over 18 years. But please remember that our facility is very clean, very safe and very professional; just don't expect to be pampered like a spa. If you want a good relaxation or therapeutic massage; need to see a good Chiropractor, or wish to have your body's internal energies balanced by our top notch, very experienced Acupuncturist, then this is the place for you. Besides, don't worry. Our policy is Satisfaction Guaranteed; if you are not happy, then there is no charge; simple.
Therapist Gender
If you have a particular choice of either a male or female therapist, then please let us know. Usually we will ask the patient their preference, but feel free to mention what makes you feel more relaxed; the choice is yours. Please remember that this is a therapeutic center. There are no "special massages" offered here. Any sexual inneuendo's, references or actions will result in the massage session being terminated immediately.
Treatment Times
Massage times are either 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes; that is the total time for the massage. Which includes the person going into the room, chnging their clothes and lying down. When the massage is over, it includes the time a person takes to get dressed. On average, it takes about two and one-half minutes for a person to change; (either clothes on or off). Therefore, the actual massage time is around 55 minutes.
Being in the Financial District, we always have to be on time and having treatment times on the hour and half-hour always has worked best; so this is the format we find works best.
